Spring Patterns 2015

I am so excited (and so behind) to introduce my new spring patterns! These are the patterns that I showed at quilt market this year. My first pattern is called Bounce. This pattern is one that looks complex, but is in fact, not very difficult. The squares are put together diagonally allowing for that "bounce" affect with each block. Finished quilt is about 72" x 72".

Fabrics on cover are Year of the Ninja by Riley Blake Designs.

My second pattern is Oh Betsy 2! This bag is similar to the original Oh Betsy bag in the way that it is built, but as far as style goes, it has it's own personality. The cut out on the top is so great because it allows the bag to lay on your hip comfortably! There is one pocket on the inside and it's so stylish with it's hook and ring closure. I get compliments on mine all the time.

Fabrics on cover are Halle by Riley Blake Designs.

Pocket-full is a very simple build of a bag and quick and easy to put together. The name of this bag does actually come from that bag, as it is FULL of pockets! 10 to be exact--6 outside, 2 large inside and 2 pencil pockets. And as always, a magnetic snap closure!

Fabric on cover is La Vie Boheme by the Quilted Fish.

Ribbons is a quilt you've seen before and now I finally have the pattern!

All of my testers confirmed that this was quick and easy to assemble, so I feel fairly safe saying that out loud. ;) This quilt is mostly built of flying geese and then a few others along the way. Like I said, simple! It measures 54" x 54" approximately when finished. The perfect throw!

Fabric on cover is The Cottage Garden by the Quilted Fish (I see a theme here).

I have had lots of requests for this one and it was in fact our top seller at quilt market (by like 3 patterns...haha). This is a smaller "fun-size" version of The Shore Bag. I call it "The Smaller Shore Bag"--catchy eh? This is an exact replica of the larger bag...only smaller. I'm not really sure what else to say, except maybe, it's adorable and fun! :)

And then....Urban Chic! This quilt speaks for itself. But just in case it doesn't, I have to say that this is a fun quilt! So fun to put together and can be done one block at a time. Lots of half square triangles! And the blocks are quite large, about 24" x 24". Finished quilt is about 72" x 72".

Dream BIG!

So...have you browsed your recent McCall's catalog? Did you notice anything familiar?

Well, I am excited to say that some of my patterns had their first appearance in the 2012 summer catalog of the McCall Pattern Company. I am just so excited!!! You can check it out here if you'd like! Or head on over to your local craft store and stock up! And don't be surprised if you see me there turning all of the catalogs to my page and leaving them wide open on the counters for everyone to see. :)

The Poppins Bag

 It's here!!! I have used this bag for almost a year now and I love it more and more every day. My green one is ragged and dirty and completely used, but I still get compliments on it! It's absolutely adorable and still holds everything you need. As Mary Poppins would say,

"Practically perfect in every way!"

One really fun feature is the child handle! I added this feature when I knew my third baby was on the way and I was all out of hands. It's true, walking into Target with a carseat in one hand, the four year old on the other and the six year old wondering somewhere behind can be a little stressful. And I have to admit, I am not a fan of putting my child on a leash. The child handle has become my third hand. It's perfect for children to hold onto and trust me when I say this, they love having the freedom! My boys prefer the handle much more than having to "hold mom's hand"!

And then...there are the pockets! This bag will keep you so organized, you won't even know what to do with yourself! There are two large pockets and then three smaller pockets just on the inside! The big ones are diaper/wipe size and the smaller ones are great for sippy cups or water bottles.

 There are four pockets total on the outside! You can see in the photo above, the outside pockets have a delicate trim along the curved edges and then the silver rings on the handles giving it a little less of a "handmade" feel. My favorite part of the bag is the scrunched center. I've done this on one other bag of mine and the shops have loved it! It's a little sassy and a lot of fun to make.

 And finally, the curve at the top of the bag came through trial and error. I've been trying to figure out how to make a bag that's snug around the arm, but not tight. By keeping the straps long and adding depth to the top of the bag I was able to get that snug feel. If that makes any sense at all? And I hope you like it too! :)

Spring Collection 2011

Better late than never right? I'm so sorry for the delay on my patterns. Roni and I are back from market and still trying to find our energy. We had a great time and I'm so excited to share pictures later this week! Yay! So let's do this...This first pattern is Little Miss Business! It has a cell pocket and larger pocket inside, with snaps on the sides to allow for the bag to grow a few inches larger. The ruffles are my favorite though! It's so simple, with just a little bit of sass. I love it!My second pattern this season is what we like to call, a little scrunched... There are pockets inside and one large front pocket. Fits perfect over the shoulder and is small enough to just tote around on date night. Love it!And this pattern is completely random, but was quite a hit at market. Ha! The Funky Chicken includes a fun little baby quilt (super easy) with a little stuffed chicken that lays eggs. hehe. In the back of the chicken, under the tail there's a little pocket that kids can stuff with eggs. My kids have gone nuts over this toy...I hope yours will too!
